DIY Homemade Natural Non-Toxic Laundry Powder

My story starts almost 17 years ago when my first born was a baby.

She always seems to have red, rashy spots on her little body.  It wasn't restricted to her diaper area.  I had this niggling feeling that it was coming from her little sleepers.

At the time, I was using a store-bought liquid laundry detergent.  I had never really thought about what was in the products I was buying.

As a budget-conscious mama on a mat leave, I didn't want to buy the expensive natural laundry detergents, especially when I read their ingredients and they still sounded like chemical-based ingredients.

So I researched and dug and eventually found a laundry powder recipe I could make at home.

I made it & started using it.  And my kids never had rashes related to their clothing again.

Fast forward to today.  I developed a super simple laundry & dish soap bar for Lazuli Farms ... with the plan to be able to use it in homemade laundry powder in our home.

Today, I am sharing that recipe with you!  Made with three simple ingredients, you're going to love the simplicity of this laundry powder AND you'll love how well it works.

  • plastic scoop around 1 to 2 teaspoons in size (re-use your scoops from baby formula or protein powder canisters)

Add essential oils of your choice & mix thoroughly.

Use approximately 1 to 3 teaspoons per load depending on how dirty the items are. Safe for front load and top load washing machines.
